For those not in Canada, this day is a federal statutory holiday that calls Canadians to remember the tragic legacy of Residential Schools in our country. It honours the Survivors and the Indigenous children who never returned home to their families. It's a reminder of Canada's ongoing need to work toward healing, reconciliation, and harmony with its First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

Lord Jesus, you who are the Truth and who came at great cost to bring Reconciliation with God, bring your healing and reconciliation within Canada. Bring your peace to the Survivors of Residential Schools. Comfort those who mourn. Bring further truth and understanding. Strengthen reconciliation and harmony. In it all, turn the eyes of our country to you - may your grace and peace be experienced more and more.
